When we look at all the different ways life is passed on by all living things, you'd have to be one of the living dead not to be amazed at the miracles. Tiny seeds carrying everything necessary to grow all kinds of plants for food and our enjoyment. Tiny seeds which can do something our greatest scientists cannot do, produce matter, living matter at that. Could some random, chaotic event have achieved such sophistication and in precisely the same way in billions of different life forms? I doubt it.
Without knowing for sure that this is true, it appears that those forms which have less chance of producing successful offspring have the greatest number of "seeds" to ensure some will survive. Even with animals, multiple births seem to occur in those whose survival rates in nature are lowest. The most successful species tend to have fewer and have better survival prospects. Sounds like a plan.
I don't know if trees and plants have an incentive to reproduce or if they are hard wired to do that, but with mammals at least, the urge to mate is so overwhelming that there is little chance their kinds will die out. Once again, not left to chance but planned for certainty. More planning.
Life, as we know it, will replicate itself until the end of time and then, hopefully, make that final leap into eternity from where it came. Perpetual life in another place.
