The Zimmerman case illustrates that fear of domestic terrorism can often influence our legal system. The simple threat if violence if a decision goes a certain way can often influence that decision in the wrong direction. Where is the justice?
As with any kind of appeasement, those who are appeased have learned that all they have to do is make a threat and they will get what they want. They become bolder and bolder, even allowing themselves to become identifiable in public proclamations. Why aren't these miscreants arrested BEFORE the outcome of the trial for making terrorist threats? The answer is simple. They DO intimidate even those we trust to protect us. During the racial unrest in the South, we called out the National Guard to maintain order. We should do the same thing when these racially charged trials and threats arise.
Today, there are still enough agitators around to cause trouble. We can't let them take over legitimate government functions with threats. Blacks used to be "afraid" and suspicious of whites. The roles have been reversed and too many white officials are willing to appease these gangs who are looking for excuses to riot and loot.
If there is one more instance of verdicts based upon what the aftermath might be in the streets, we may as well do away with trials.
