Every bit of knowledge, and the discoveries and inventions they have led to, has existed since the beginning of time. When Columbus "discovered" America, America did not begin to exist because he discovered it but because it was there to be discovered. And so it is with everything we know.
No knowledge is "created" by the one who discovers it but by the one who put it there to be discovered. What we do with that knowledge, say, build a computer, is still dependent upon the fact that a computer was buildable with that knowledge even before it was built.
I guess what I'm saying is that there is "nothing new under the sun". The sun just helps us to see what was there all the time.
