A smile is man's most friendly and powerful expression. Nothing makes me smile quicker and wider than the sight and antics of innocent babies and children. No matter who it is, even if you're not with them, a smile lightens the moment. If you are feeling down and force yourself to smile, you'll feel better.
I've always been confounded by people who see each other every day, even work side by side, but never greet or smile at each other. Some day someone may punch me in the mouth but I talk to strangers, even jokingly insult or compliment them. Most of the time the encounter results in a returned smile or a joking shot of their own aimed at me. Most, I think, appreciate being acknowledged.
Have you ever noticed how TV newspersons always smile while delivering the news. Have you ever tried to smile and talk at the same time. It is really hard to do. I admire their skill but I cringe when they are reporting a serious accident, murder or international crisis with an inappropriate smile on their lips. Does that bother you ?
Whatever you are doing and wherever you may happen to be, every now and then SMILE, even if you are not on Candid Camera.
