Few people have attracted more divided reviews than Sarah Palin. I must confess, I love her. I do not understand completely the vehement, strident criticism of Sarah, especially since most comes from other women. I am certain that if she were just a neighbor most of the neighbors would like and possibly even admire her. What is it then that changes that?
Sarah is a lady who most would call "traditional". To some that is a dirty word. To them that means you are "to good to be true" She is everything any woman could hope to be; intelligent, knowledgeable, true to her convictions, therefore honest and reliable, a good mother, a concerned citizen and attractive. What's wrong with that? The answer is "nothing" except that she makes lesser people "uncomfortable". If Sarah is the model in Macy's window, they are the mannequin in the store room.
There is a word, "palingenesis", which means "rebirth" that I believe is almost prophetic. Sarah Palin represents a re-birth of many of the qualities and concepts which made our country great. The fact that these ideas require each of us to become better people and to squirm out of the decadence we've descended into, cause many to resist them because they love the undisciplined life. Much as we treat other addictions, we must return these lost souls to the real wold.
