I can't help being amused by the political pundits who know it all but do not try to change the corrupt practices they comment upon. They speak from personal knowledge apparently because they are experts and therefore well informed by their mingling with, interviewing or observing the sneaky, corrupt people they discuss in familiar terms. What is the good in knowing all that and not trying to do something about it? Is their job just to be paid for telling us about it to infuriate or frighten us, the little people?
The smugness with which they report like all-knowing, above it all elite, implying that they are immune from all the terrible consequences of the corrupt actions they report upon but it is important for them to analyze it for us because we are too stupid to get it without them. Not only are they practically stereotypes but often cartoon characters all talking at once because each believes what he has to say is more important than that of any of the others.
You may ask why I watch and listen to them. That question has an easy answer. I watch to despise them and to reinforce the impression I have that I know more than any of them. How's that for smugness!!
