I have suggested in the past an action which could help save our political system but I believe it is worth repeating.
Political representation was intended to be a short experience but some have made it a career. Because they can, they have created many incentives for continuing in politics for many years. The perks are abundant and luxurious. If we had the power, we should eliminate them all, especially pensions and other lifetime benefits. Few privately employed people come close to the quantity and quality of these benefits, but in a way, they are more deserving.
We would not need term limits if we could do this.
