EXPLAIN THIS

Every once in awhile, we find things which have no logical explanation.  This phenomenon seems to be happening more often as I get older.

The 99 percenters act as though they are not affected by bad government policy but only by the actions of the rich.  Even without research, I would have to guess that more people have jobs than those who do not.  If my guess is correct, the non-rich worker is being harmed more by government than by the rich.  Even if the rich are forced to pay higher taxes, that will not lower the burden of hidden taxes and fees the non-rich have to pay.

A perfect example is the current 50% raise in highway tolls in NJ.  My son who used to pay $8 a day in tolls will now be paying $12.  This is for a short Turnpike ride.  Others will pay much more.  A minimum rise in fees (TAX) for my son will be $20 a week or about $1000 a year.  This is on top of the $2000 he already paid.  Other working people who travel longer distances will pay even more.
This action is not due in any way to the so-called rich, but to politicians who have been raiding  NJ transportation fund for years.  Where is the outrage?  I would also guess that the 99%'rs don't vote or, do reelect the same incompetents election after election.

There is a law of diminishing returns.  Those who cannot afford the increase will be forced to use secondary roads causing more congestion, pollution and wear and tear on those roads.  Whatever story they give for the necessity for the increase, the result could be even higher costs to maintain other roads.

If we cannot reverse this toll theft, I would hope that in November, no incumbent will receive your vote.
