I don't know if "white" is a real color or not. I would say that if you can see any object, it probably is because it has color, not transparent. I always respond "white" when I used to fill out forms which requested me to identify my "color". I know I am not white( albinos are pretty white), not black, yellow or brown. I guess I'm a kind of beige in the winter and very dark brown in the summer. If I answer the question in different seasons, I have to give different answers. If I lived in Florida, I'd have to answer "chocolate". Everyone is touting a color blind society nowadays but even if I were color blind, when I look at someone, I know what color, even what shade of the color, the person is because I don't think the colors which color blind people miss are any of the colors people come in, except the red men of American Indian lore, but they aren't really red, they're kind of bronze.
People are readily identified as being one "color" or another even if, in your heart, you ignore or don't care about the color. If you close your eyes and don't see "color" and just listen to some people speak, you can identify some colors or nationalities. Are we supposed to be color deaf too? Often you can even tell if they are smart or stupid. Is there any color you would prefer to be if it meant you also had to be stupid?
As they say in some cultures, "Enough already". Most of the people I know, including me, even though I don't know myself that well, are not color blind in any sense of the term and couldn't care less about it as long as we all behave. All of us, even when it's not true, say, "Some of my best friends are (whatever)". I treat everyone the same, no matter which "whatever" they are, as long as they are not trying to kill me.
So I say, "Enough already!". Chill out and, if you have to, pretend the one you are talking to looks just like you. There's a guy in the sky who made us all and judging by the variety of colors he wound up with, I believe he really IS color blind.
