TRUST

No country, friendship or relationship can survive without TRUST.  When there are NO doubts about someone supporting, believing in and protecting you, nothing seems impossible.  When you can act freely knowing someone has your back and would die before letting any harm come to you, there is a feeling like no other.

Americans serve their country all over this globe, each believing that their safety is the primary concern of those they serve.  Whether it be in the military, the diplomatic service or any other way in which they represent their country, they have a right to expect that.  Once that trust is broken, no one will ever believe again.

Who would serve their country if they believed those they represent don't really care about them? Who, if others have been left to be murdered without help, would place themselves in jeopardy?  Not even a super patriot would serve without trust in those who ask them to sacrifice themselves for those who just don't give a damn!

If those in our government responsible for allowing the brutal murders of our people in Benghazi are not charged and punished for this crime, their will be no trust in our government at all.  If those who stood by and "watched" the deaths of brave Americans without trying to help them are not punished, why should others be loyal citizens?  These, and other, betrayals have left us a divided, suspicious and cynical country.

When people lie to the Congress, that is a serious crime.  But the Congress is our representation in Washington and if someone lies to the Congress they are, in essence, lying to US. Further, if the liar by-passes the Congress and lies directly to the people, the crime is even more serious but it goes unpunished.  Even if it may not deter others from lying, each time we uncover one, we should bury them in misery.

What do you think?
