I forget the exact percentage but small businesses account for a large part of all jobs. Think about this, not only do they hire the most people, but every business needs a location which needs utilities, furniture, supplies, etc. All these requirements support hundreds of other jobs among their suppliers. And, because their customers retail their products, they are affected and the entire line of dominoes is affected. The more small businesses there are the more everyone else prospers.
The same can be said about the wealthy. They invest in creating and expanding businesses which creates jobs while at the same time, because of their wealth can afford things most of us cannot. There are many people who work in industries and businesses which exist only because the products and services they provide have a market among the wealthy.
When "business is good", everyone benefits, even the government. Why would anyone make being in business more difficult or, sometimes, nearly impossible. The closing down of the "Twinkie" bakeries cost thousands of employee jobs but also will be responsible for layoffs among all the people with which they did business.
Who needs enemies when we have government and unreasonable unions.
