INDIFFERENCE AND COMPLACENCY

The biggest threat to the American way of life is indifference and complacency.  The typical "man in the street" type interviews reveal that many, if not most, "average" Americans know little about what is happening to government in their country.  They assume someone else is looking out for them and that they don't have to pay attention.  This complacency, along with not knowing what is happening is a formula for disaster.

Even when people you like and trust are running your store, sometimes the cash register is a little light.  We have to be diligent if we are going to protect our money and freedom.  Once they get a substantial head start, it is hard to catch up to them.  It's our job to keep them on a leash.

We aren't the only ones who have fallen into this trap.  I'm sure that the people of Germany had plenty of signs of what was about to happen if only they had been paying attention.  I'm equally as certain that the rest of the world also knew what was happening and just sat back hoping someone else would take care of it.

Unless the vast majority begins to pay attention and participate in this kind of government ( of, for and BY the people) we will wind up with another kind.  Power changes people.  Like money, they always want more.  If we don't catch them in time and stop them, they'll know we don't care enough to stop them.
