We all use cliches from time to time. It's easier than trying to say the same thing over and over but using different words. Cliches, however, when used, seem not to mean what they say.
I am particularly annoyed by, "Love you". Whats up with that? If you really love a person you say, "I love you", then you give them a big bear hug and a sincere smooch! That's how you say I love you!
I know people who employ cliches in order to avoid hurting people. For example, when trying to end an endless conversation they use the old "I'll let you go now". Do they think the other party doesn't know that old trick? How about, "You look great"? They mean for a person 100 years old.
I urge you to avoid cliches whenever possible. I'll let you go now.
