We all like to believe that we have "principles". After all, it's the principle that counts, isn't it?. The problem with principles is that for every principle there are a dozen principles which conflict with it. But a principle is supposed to be absolute. If it isn't absolute, is it really a principle?
Let's face it. For most of us a principle is what we believe so it is really more subjective than objective. We accept the principles which support our personal opinions and reject those that don.t. The next time some pompous ass tells you he is a "man of principle", ask, "Which ones?" Personally, I'm a person of ambiguous principles.
