TRUE OR FALSE

We all accuse other people of hypocrisy, sometimes overlooking the reality that usually there really are two sides to every question.

I wish I could remember the source of this story, but I can't.  I just want you to know that this is not original with me.

The story is about a prohibition era politician who was asked about his position on alcohol.  His response, as well as I can remember, was something like this. "If you're talking about the vile beverage that causes a man to beat his wife and children, threaten his neighbor, lose his job and fall dead drunk in the street, I'm against it.   But, if you're talking about that elixir that warms a man's heart and soul, causes him to be merry, cheers him when he's sad and causes him to smile without reason, then I'm for it.

Beer anyone?
