It's been my experience that many pretty girls don't believe or know they are while some not so pretty ones think they are. I think it's because the average boy is intimidated by beauty resulting in few advances while the less attractive girls seem easier to approach. Whether this impression is right or wrong, I'm going with it.
I have many, many beautiful granddaughters and only a couple have or have had "boyfriends". Maybe it's the new age where girls seem to be looking for careers rather than relationships but I'm betting their beauty scares the boys away! The only way to overcome this dilemma is for the girls to make themselves appear less attractive or become more aggressive. Boy friends are not an essential part of a girl's life but having the experience of a few boyfriends helps recognize qualities to avoid and those to embrace. Too many girls marry the first guy they date without knowing what and who are out there. BIG MISTAKE!
The unfortunate statistic of divorce is a result of marriages where the couples don't really know each other and the ease with which divorces are obtained. The ease of divorce makes some careless about selecting a mate because they know that if it doesn't work out, they'll not be stuck in the marriage. Believing that divorce is nearly impossible, more care would be used when selecting mates and more effort would be used to save marriages.
This is advice all young ladies should follow but I hope my young ladies heed this. A happy marriage should not be a matter of chance but if it is, make sure the odds are in your favor. Have happy lives.
