WHAT'S THE BIG DEAL?

The Casey Anthony case has caused a fire storm of protests.  What's the big deal?  We have tolerated the legal killing of millions of children before birth and thousands in the cruelest way possible, a scissors through the skull inches from being born.  If we can tolerate and condone this as some kind of right, what's another sweet baby's death?  Casey just decided she didn't want to be a mom anymore.  Her child was an "inconvenience".

Bad things have happened to our perception of right and wrong.  The gradual, creeping acceptance of bad behavior, widespread vulgarity and pornography, violent entertainment and the killing of the unborn infant have made it seem that nothing is "wrong" anymore.  The only thing wrong is our acceptance of these degrading activities which place human dignity in the most precarious position.  If those of us who still believe that the evil tendencies of man should be suppressed allow daily exposure of these things as normal, we all will be doomed to jungle life.

Those who defend these activities under the guise of freedom of speech and the right to control their own bodies,  seem to forget that the body aborted has the same right and that "speech" is limited by slander and libel laws, advocating violence and cussing at the judge.  Why should our rights to enjoy freedom from the assault on our sensibilities by a group of complete jack-asses who appeal to other jack-asses who enjoy their filth, not be protected?  The only speech which cannot be abridged is political speech.

The saddest part of this story is that many, many people have accepted this erroneous reasoning, having been convinced that it protects their freedom when,in fact, it deprives them and others of theirs.  We cannot know, but Casey Anthony may have become callous about life because we have devalued it.
