CLAY FEET

Tiger Woods was the Mike Tyson of golf.  Both won as much by intimidation of their opponents as by their skills at their sport.  With Tyson, you could actually see the fear in the eyes of his opponents.  With Tiger, I'll bet there was a sigh of relief among other golfers when they learned Tiger was not going to play in a tournament.

Both of these men, skillful at their sport, lacked other qualities which would have made them real greats.  This has been true in outstanding individuals in nearly all walks of life.  Seldom, if ever, have we seen these kinds of downfalls among women.  The question arises, can we separate the greatness of an individual who contributes much to the world, from his flaws, excluding, of course, criminal actions?  SHOULD HE BE SO SEVERELY PUNISHED FOR HIS FLAWS THAT WE PREVENT HIM FROM CONTINUING TO PROVIDE US WITH WHAT HE IS GREAT AT?  Someone once said of Nixon, paraphrasing, would you  rather have an incompetent, flawless person for president or a competent scoundrel?  The choice is ours.

In today's world, women have become more and more influential in every field.  Many are truly outstanding individuals who can and have competed against outstanding men and won.  If we want competency and the flawless person in one, it seems to me we should select a woman for president.  If that is not acceptable to some, then be prepared for the probability that  any man chosen will not emerge as "perfect".
