For as long as I can remember, women were the ones who set the tone for and sustained traditional values in courtships. Most men reluctantly accepted that and respected women for it. Those women with the highest standards were sought after as life partners while those with the lowest were used and discarded.
Today, in the absence of these moral standards, we see abundant examples of ruined lives and social problems which often also include the children of these examples. While it is easy to blame the women who have accepted the notion of liberation to include abandoning the role of the past, I believe the reason also includes the constant pressure of secular assault upon religion and its teachings. Without the guiding principles which most religions teach, young women are left adrift without an anchor. In the past, virginity was considered a badge of honor but today it is mocked by those who themselves are not strong enough to accept it and work to corrupt those who try.
Men have always been aggressive but still, in most cases, women were able to keep them under control. Without the resistance and insistence, men happily take advantage of the situation and, more often than not, the woman pays the price.
The liberation of women is a great event but some of the consequences have resulted in a great deal of unhappiness. Liberation from those notions which limited women in achieving whatever, is good but liberation from principles of morality was not needed.
