OLIVIA

Olivia was watching TV when she suddenly shouted, "I'm bored!!!"  Her mother asked her what was wrong.  Olivia answered, "There's nothing to do."

Mother took her by the hand and led her outside.  "What do you see?", she asked Olivia.  Olivia said, "Nothing."

"Nothing?", mother asked.  "Do you see the beautiful, blue sky?  How about the lovely flowers Father planted?  I can smell them from here.  And how about those squirrels running and playing in the yard and the birds busy pecking for worms?"

Olivia's mother was saying that we don't always have to be doing something to keep from being bored. There are so many wonderful things in nature that we could never see all of them.  Those we can see can keep us busy for a long time.

Next time you are bored, go outside and see how many things that are there that you never noticed before.
