THE WAR ON DRUGS

We have retaliated swiftly and effectively against those terrorists who at Pearl Harbor and on 9/11 killed thousands of Americans.  There are forces which kill or destroy many more every year yet we do not respond with the same force. It's hard to believe that any power that WANTS to win this war on drugs could not have been successful by now.  We have been fighting a post harvesting,  manufacturing and delivery system war.  Any plant based drug could reasonably be stopped BEFORE IT IS GROWN OR MANUFACTURED.

What would it take, with today's technology, to find and destroy drug producing plant locations?  Beginning with human intelligence proceeding through satellite observance, locating and destroying these crops from the air should be a no brainer. If we can strike a home in the wilderness through a predetermined window from miles away why can't we locate and destroy drug producing plants with chemical bombs? It seems almost as though success is NOT a goal. If the war were to be successful, a lot of people would be out of work and crooked politicians and police would lose their bribes.

It makes NO sense to try to stop the delivery of these products after the fact.  The distribution networks are harder to find, are more numerous and involve thousands of people, violent people, scattered all over the place.  Trying to fight the war by interrupting the delivery is described by the old saying about closing the barn door after... and can also be likened to running on a treadmill, going nowhere.

If this is war, the known enemy and their locations are easy to find.  Their compounds and "farms" should be treated as any other enemy locations of operation are treated in war.  This will kill the bad guys instead of our kids.

What do you think?
