Wouldn't it be wonderful if all the people of the world could get along? Most of us can but there will always be those who won't, If it were a simple matter of disagreements, that wouldn't be so bad but when those who take belligerent actions to show their disagreements, those who do get along are compelled to defend themselves, not by choice but of necessity.
We have a President who demonstrates his naivete and deceitfulness in one action. He insists on reducing our ability to defend ourselves and "secretly" assures the Russian president, on an open microphone, that when it will no longer jeopardize his political career, he will be more "flexible" to impose his will to weaken our defenses.
We have multiple nations which are serious threats to our safety. Three of them have nuclear capability and one is on the verge of having it. The leaders of these countries have a pathological hatred for our country and some of them are lunatics. Coupled with the possibility that each is capable of supplying these weapons to terrorists to do their dirty work, you can see there is a wide spread area we need to defend against. If our President agrees to dismantle our ability to intercept enemy missiles and reduce our nuclear arsenal, a bomb shelter won't do much to protect us.
It would be great if everyone were peaceful but since they are not, it would be national suicide not to maintain and continue to improve the strongest possible defense systems. The future of all free countries depends on it.
