IN YOUR OWN WORDS

There are many familiar and old prayers which many of us use. Although they may say some of what we want to say in a prayer, they are someone else's thoughts and words.  I believe He wants to hear from us, what we think and believe and are asking for.  We can't negotiate with God on a quid pro quo basis, we promise him everything and He decides. We cannot say, "If you do this, I'll do that.".  When we use our own words, we have to think about what we want to say and how to say it.  It is more personal and reflects our feelings not that of some ancient church officials.  The old prayers are good but your own are more sincere and powerful.

He IS our Father.  Talk to Him on that personal basis. The only difference is that He CAN do whatever you ask of Him if he knows it is good for you.  Your own words will show a sincerity that rote repetition of someone else's words cannot convey.  Become a child talking to his Daddy.
