RICH MAN/POOR MAN

There are several things about Mitt Romney you may criticise him for but being rich should not be one of them.  None of our Presidents, as far as I know, were paupers.  If we can elect a rich President whose family was rich from bootlegging whiskey during prohibition, it should be a lot easier to elect one who is rich from his own efforts, all on the right side of the law.

Being or becoming rich is not enough to disqualify someone from an office which is responsible for spending a lot of the peoples' money.  Someone who has spent a lot of time salvaging failing companies has the experience to salvage a failing country.  It should be obvious to anyone who can add and subtract that spending more money than you have ultimately leads to disaster.  Anyone who can also multiply can also understand that the larger the debt, even with a constant interest rate, the more interest you will pay.  Another complication arises when your credit rating worsens because then your interest rate will rise.  Bigger debt and higher interest rates is a grave digger's dream.

Our current President, elected by misguided idealists, lacked the simple skills of a shoe store manager.  We all hoped he would prove to us that he was up to the job but his performance proves otherwise.  If your credit card is maxed out and you can't make the payments, you can't get out of the hole by using another card to pay for it.

If you value the future of your children and theirs, let alone your own, vote for someone who knows how, and has the courage to, stop the madness.  You don't begin a budget by planning all the things you want to do and then look for the money, you see how much you have then decide what you can do.

This November, don't be a JACKASS, not that you should ever be, vote Republican!
