HEALTHCARE?

Sometimes we manage to invert logic.  For example, we say "health care" when we mean "sick care".  When you take care of sick people, they are not healthy and the goal is to restore health, but if you take care of healthy people and your goal is to preserve their health, that is "health care", taking care of health.

No reasonable person could say that certain aspects of medical care are not necessary if you are sick.  They do some wonderful things but under ordinary circumstances, most of what they treat are self limiting conditions for which there are no cures but are treated symptomatically at great risks.  Better to let the body do its job.

There are so many things we can do to stay healthy that it is a wonder so many people do get sick.  Simple hygiene, reasonably good diets (no fanaticism), physical activity (no crushing exertion), adequate sleep and a HEALTHY ATTITUDE.  Some people think SICK, almost anticipating and inviting, even embracing sickness.  These people really are sick!

Our bodies are programmed to be healthy.  When something goes wrong, we must determine whether the cause is external or internal, that is, did something overwhelm our defenses or were our defenses not up to snuff?  Because we have the innate ability, if healthy, to ward off these "attacks"  we want to do everything we can to keep that ability "up to snuff".  Physical problems, such as pain, sometimes are related to the immune system but most are mechanical in nature and respond to the methods described below.

All else being equal, we discover that our nervous system plays a major role in directing and controlling the functions of the immune system.  From that we conclude that any interference or modification of the nervous system's ability to communicate normally and regulate and coordinate the various components of the immune system leaves us vulnerable.  The question, then, is, how do we make certain that the nerves are doing their job?  The truth is, we cannot be certain.  The good news is that there is a way to detect and correct one of the most common causes for the failure.  If you guessed chiropractic correction of spinal subluxations, relieving nerve pressure and normalizing nerve conduction, you guessed right.  Mechanical conditions (neck, back, arm and shoulder pain) are also treated by correcting subluxations.

But, you ask, isn't that treating disease?  The answer is "no", it is correcting the CAUSE which allows disease.  Then, if you acccept this concept, it would follow that before you get sick,  you should periodically have your spine checked for subluxations.  THAT is "HEALTH CARE".

As the disclaimer of all drug commercials always say, "This may not work for everyone." but there are no side effects. Give chiropractic a shot before you take your next shot.
