MINORITIES

One of the outstanding qualities of our country is that our system was designed to protect minorities from a hostile or indifferent majority.  The bicameral Congress is a good example of that.  It is important to protect the minority from HARM from the majority but not from just technical grievances, which is destructive.

Unless substantial harm can be shown, minorities should have to "TOLERATE" the will of the majority instead of the other way around. Our system is based upon the rule of the majority, which means if most of us agree something is OK, then it is OK.  Minorities are often hateful, vengeful people and demand things from the majority which are unreasonable and intended to taunt, harm or anger them.

We have, in recent generations, encouraged every person who is different in some way to exploit our system to a point where there is no longer anything which is not offensive to someone which must be accommodated no matter how much harm is done to the majority and the tranquility of the people.  Instead of sensitivity training, we should be teaching people to not be so sensitive about every little thing.  Those who would harm a minority in some way will not be stopped by laws but in the meantime the rest of us are required to walk on eggshells.

Grow up!
