A RETRACTION

Not too long ago, I  suggested some things our creator could have included which would have been nice.. Upon reflection, I can see that He was right all along.  Eyes in the back of our heads sounds good but the idea is shortsighted.

Eyes in that position would not have been practical.  It would have required a redesign of the hair format to provide a bald spot so the hair would not obstruct vision.  Unless that were done,  a barber, even if very skilful, would have difficulty  navigating around the eyes when giving a haircut.

Another seemingly sensible suggestion about an extra arm or two for those times when you are alone and are doing something where an extra hand would come in handy, reveals my shortsightedness.  He knew that it would be too difficult to sew shirts and jackets with extra sleeves and that putting them on and taking them off would be too difficult for most of us.  Have you ever dressed an infant?  His insight shows a brilliance that even I never suspected. What about hangers for those garments and all the extra space they would need in a closet?

Someone suggested a third set of teeth would have been a  nice touch.  I think He was trying to instill a sense of responsibility in us. If two would not be enough, ten probably wouldn't.

I have always been grateful that He positioned our taste buds at the entrance and not the exit.

God has always had a knack for giving us subtle lessons in humility.  This has been one of mine.
