RICH MAN/POOR MAN

Lately the administration and many people have bemoaned the fact that some people are too rich and others too poor.  They apparently believe the rich man is somehow responsible for the others being poor.  They expect the rich man to give most of his money to the poor.  Even if they were to do that, it wouldn't be long before the rich man had it all back again.  He knows how to make money.

Our country gives every citizen, even foreigner's, an equal opportunity to excel.  Not everyone has whatever it is that it takes to be "successful" yet those who do, find they cannot succeed without help from others: they cannot do it all.  This gives those who don't know how to create wealth an opportunity to work for those who do know how.  If there were no successful rich, there would be no jobs for the middle class and poor.  The goal should not be to take from the rich but to show the others how to make themselves valuable to those who need his skills.  That way, the rich remain rich and the others improve their lives.  No man, no matter how rich or poor, is going to pay someone wages which exceed his value in doing any job.  That is the domain of philanthropy, not good business.

Those who complain about the rich would like to be rich themselves.  If they don't, then they are right where they want to be and should stop complaining.  If they do, it takes some ambition, ability and perseverance.  A little luck helps too.  Let's stop blaming the rich for our condition.  Most started out just like us.  They did something we didn't do.  They wound up rich, we did not.  It's to their credit that they are rich and our fault for being not so rich.  Be happy for them and work to join them some day so you can be hated too.
