We met in the Navy/ I thought she was crazy/ Soon she was a good friend/ Had no idea how it would end/ After V-E and V-J days/ We went our separate ways/ Didn't know if we'd meet again/ Soon after I was on a train/ I was heading for the "show me" state/ That trip would seal our fate/ Agreed to get married and soon we did/ TEN months later we had our first kid/ Life from there on moved very fast/ Twenty years later we had our last/ In sixty-five years/ There've been some tears/ But love conquers all/ And I've had a ball!!!
I LOVE MY HOOGIE
When my love left for a better place, we had been married for 66 years. Before she left, I told her I loved her and she answered, "I know". Then, not certain of her awareness, I asked if she knew who I was. Without hesitating she replied, "I'm sick, not stupid". That was my Hoogie, right to the end. I still love her.
I LOVE MY HOOGIE
