Each of us, no matter how insignificant we may by in the overall scheme of things, has a good idea or is right about something now and then. Political candidates, if you listen to debates or read the "news" accounts, seem never to have done anything right but all have sordid pasts. The media always reports the bad but never the good. The good, they say, is not "NEWSWORTHY". No wonder they all look like villains. If you want news coverage, rob a bank but don't help an old lady to cross the street.
If you wonder why so many people are disgusted with the state of affairs, you have to remember that we are fed a constant regurgitating of the same, depressing, disillusioning garbage every day all day long on every TV channel and newspapers. Surely, this is not a fair or true portrayal of the world. Bad deeds should be reported, of course, but good deeds deserve the same exposure. It reminds me in a way how everyone is willing to believe and cowers in fear when dark spirits are portrayed in movies but if an angel or good spirit shows up, they don't believe.

It's a pity but the fourth estate has fallen into disrepute because it has lost sight of their ideals. They are free to offer opinions when they are identified as such but opinions and distortions do not belong in "reporting" news. It's not their job to destroy or deify individuals. They should give us the facts and let us decide their fate.
