INTEGRITY

Of all the qualities I admire in people,  integrity heads the list.  Of course, integrity includes many of the other good qualities.  When a person says they stand for something, if their actions demonstrate that they make a sincere effort to conduct themselves that way, they have my respect.

Republicans are going through a period of examining why they lost the election and what they can do to improve their image.  None of the things they talk about is their problem.  Just as the treatment of symptoms does not cure the disease, the things they talk about are symptoms of a much deeper flaw.  I believe the root cause of their loss of support is due to their lack of integrity.

Those of us who believe in small government and fiscal responsibility need to believe when they are promised that by the party.  When we watch these promises broken time after time by weak kneed Republicans, it is hard to become excited about supporting them.  Where are the people of integrity? People who run for national offices under the party banner can't get the line without party approval.  Why do they let the RINOs have the line?

When political philosophies differ in such a severe way as those presented to us today, there is NO room for compromise, especially when "compromise" means surrender.  How can they expect us to continue to support them when they fold on every important issue?  As long as they conduct themselves that way, we may as well vote for the opposition.  In other words, if it really doesn't matter, why vote?  Even when you win, you lose.
